SAFETY ATLAS2026
Effective 12 May 2026 · Version 1.0

Terms of Service

These Terms govern your purchase and use of the Safety Atlas products described at safetyatlas.us (the "Service"). By placing an order or downloading any artifact, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not place an order.

1. The product

Safety Atlas publishes derivative analyses of FBI Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) and National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) data. The underlying source data is in the public domain; our methodology, scoring formula, narrative deliverables (PDFs), Excel feeds, and API responses are our copyrighted work product.

2. License

Upon payment, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the deliverables for one organisation's internal business purposes, including:

You may NOT, without a separate written license (typically the Enterprise / White-label tier):

3. Pricing and payment

Prices are in U.S. Dollars and shown on the order page. Payment is processed via Razorpay. You receive an emailed receipt and the deliverables within minutes of payment.

4. Refunds

Seven-day money-back guarantee. See our Refund Policy for the full terms.

5. Updates and refreshes

Single-state and Region tiers include one free quarterly refresh in the 12 months following purchase. The Atlas tier includes refreshes per its tier description. Refresh delivery is on a reasonable-effort basis; in the rare event a refresh is delayed by more than 30 days, you may request a prorated refund.

6. API access

License keys included with relevant tiers entitle you to read-only API access for the term shown. Rate limits apply: 1000 requests per day by default. Excessive automated consumption above this limit may result in rate-limiting or revocation. Keys are tied to the purchasing email and may not be shared with parties outside the licensed organisation.

7. Source-data limitations

FBI UCR / NIBRS coverage is not 100% nationwide; some agencies report partial offense sets, and year-over-year comparisons across agencies are subject to reporting-practice variation. We document these limitations in every methodology page. The Service is provided AS-IS for informational, analytic, and editorial use; it is not a substitute for professional advice (legal, financial, real-estate, insurance underwriting, or otherwise).

8. Acceptable use

See Acceptable Use Policy. In summary: don't use Safety Atlas to discriminate, harass, defame, or violate fair-housing or fair-lending laws.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is capped at the amount you paid for the Service in the preceding 12 months. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.

10. Termination

We may terminate your license for material breach (including unauthorised redistribution) with reasonable notice and pro-rated refund of any unused subscription portion. You may cancel any time; we do not auto-renew.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced by email to the address on file. Continued use of the Service after notification constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India (the operator's home jurisdiction). Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration in Mumbai, except where applicable consumer protection law requires the buyer's local jurisdiction.
